Braiding has been around for centuries. We like to call this ‘Jellyfish Braiding’ for obvious reasons once you start braiding. This kit gives your kid a chance to make something fun and functional - a pair of trendy shoelaces.
This kids craft activity is suitable for ages 5 years and up, with a little help.
In this kit you will find:-
- A braiding disk
- 14 long pre-cut strands of coloured yarn - Pick 2 colours below
- 7 short pre-cut strands of coloured yarn (for practicing with)
- A shoe cutout to practice tying laces
- An instruction sheet with a link to a video tutorial to follow along
- An activity booklet
- 4 pre-cut heat shrink tubes to finish the ends of the laces
- A plastic needle
You will need the following:-
- a pair of scissors
- some clothes pegs or hair elastics
- a hairdryer to shrink the ends on the shoelaces
- and a pair of kitchen tongs or an oven mitt to keep fingers safe from the heat.
